Each Tuesday I publish a list relating to a random topic that strikes my fancy. The idea is to quickly come up with a list of ten things (in no particular order) that fits a category.
The Top Ten Things Not on My Bucket List
Developing a bucket list is somewhat in vogue these days. I do not have a specific list of things that I want to do while I am still on this earth. However, I do have several things that I know I definitely do not want to do. Ever. For everyone who has these things on their bucket list I wish you luck and I hope you have every opportunity to successfully accomplish them. I just won’t be joining you. With every apology to those who have aspirations to do these things, you will never find me doing the following:
- Bungee Jumping – I am afraid of heights and could not force myself to bungee jump.
- Sky Diving – See #1.
- Raising Chickens – I have never gotten over my fear of chickens after terrible childhood experiences with roosters. (See The Attack Rooster)
- Driving a Race Car – I don’t need speed in my life and would be a nervous wreck.
- Swimming with Sharks – I never learned to swim and if I were to learn I would not do it with sharks.
- Running for Public Office – I am an introvert and the campaigning would be impossible for me.
- Running a Marathon – My poor arthritic knees would be tortured.
- Getting Married Again – I loved being married but now that I am widowed I also love my independent life.
- Being on a Reality TV Show – I love watching many reality TV shows such as Survivor and Amazing Race, but I never in a million years would want to expose myself to some of the incredible things contestants are required to do..
- Chase a Tornado – Tornadoes scare me to death. They can be so destructive and I would choose to stay as far away from one as possible. The same thing goes for hurricanes, cyclones and other violent weather events.
What are things that would never be on your bucket list? See other Top Ten Tuesday lists here.
I totally agree with all these!! (except getting married again, that is a possibility!)

Well…that’s an exciting piece of news. As I look over my list it is clear to see that I am not much of a daredevil.

Fear of heights also? Thanks for reading and commenting.

Wow. I don’t want to do anything on your list either, LOL

Glad to have your company in this.

I used to want to sky dive, but I grew out of it. I do inadvertantly swim with a few sharks at times when I am out swimming with dolphins, but I would rather they not come around. I want to raise chickens. Other than that, I don’t want to do any of those things. Another thing I would never want to do is- and I have stayed away from it so far- is watch a really scary movie.

I could add horror movies to those things I would not want to see. If it is suspenseful with some scariness I am ok, but the true horror movies I have no interest in.

I agree with all of them! Well, except #8 since I am married. ha ha. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law have started raising chickens and I really don’t understand the appeal.

But hopefully you won’t be in the situation where you get married again. I could say lots of things about how I feel about chickens but I don’t want to be offensive to those who have interest in them.

So lots of people agree with the do not want to do list as do I. That’s a good idea.

Thanks for commenting. I wasn’t sure if this particular list would have any appeal, but I appreciate the responses.

I’m with you on 1, 2 and 10.
I hate heights and would rather die than have to do anything that involved heights. That includes standing in the edge of a cliff, or looking out the windows of the Space Needle or the Hancock Tower.
On my list would be riding a motorcycle (even though my G has 2!); going to a Spin class (hate bicycles, too); eating bugs, snakes, frogs, or any blood organs.

I might ride a motorcycle if I had trust in the driver. I can’t imagine that I would go to a Spin class and I think part of the reason I wouldn’t want to go on a reality tv show is because of some of the things they have to eat.

There’s not one thing on that list I would do again either!!!

I like that a lot of people seem to be able to identify with these things.

In reviewing my list I think I have no sense of adventure. I just don’t enjoy scaring myself half to death when it could be avoided.
